Vizio has a great 1080p 37 TV and if you know where to shop you can take home an excellent refurbished set for about $500. Now before you get spooked and head for the hills, refurbished does not mean about to die.

Refurbished means that for whatever reason the set was returned to the manufacturer and before it was placed back on the shelves it was thoroughly tested and any issues were resolved. Even brand new cars sometimes have to make a return trip to the dealer. Therefore, when you are dealing with a credible company refurbished is not a dirty word.

Pros

Great for hard-core gamers who are looking for LCD high def at a reasonable price. A 1080p 37 TV can easily run into thousands of dollars depending on the brand and here is a gem for less than a grand. True high definition is hard to find but the Vizio 1080p 37 TV delivers in spades.

Cons

Due to the fact that all these are refurbished items, you can get one that has a slight imperfection, such as a scratch in the casing. This is not common however, it can happen, the remotes are often not returned with these units so you could end up with a universal remote.

Only having one HDMI port is not a major drawback at the moment but if the push to high definition continues, it is a safe guess that people will want more ports to hook their new gadgets up. For now the one port is not much of an issue, few people have more than one item, such as cable box, to connect.
