Why Buy MP3 Player? The Technology & More
By Anne Ahira
You’ve probably thought about whether or not you want to buy MP3 player. If that’s the case, you might be missing out on some of the most impressive music technology that has ever been invented.
And, let’s face it, music enjoyment has generated quite a few of the best technological advancements in the world. But we’ve come a long way from vinyl records and that’s what you’ll see when you buy MP3 player.
How the Technology Works
To understand the technology and the main reason why you should buy MP3 player, you first have to understand what the MP3 part is referring to. You see, music files – like photos and video files – are normally quite large. If they were normal size, you’d only be able to fit a fraction of your current song library on one of the portable mp3 players.
MP3 refers to a technology that compresses and decompresses the music files.
Basically, when you “rip” music off of a CD it is converted and compressed into an MP3 file. That allows you to fit more songs into a small disk space.
However, normal music playing equipment can’t read the compressed files.
For that to work, you need to buy MP3 player because the technology will then uncompress the files and you’ll be able to listen to music in its own full, original sound quality.
Benefits
Obviously, the technology described above is fairly impressive. Similar methods are also used to store large video files on your hard drive as well. However, there are plenty of benefits to this technology that will give you further reason to buy MP3 player.
First, most of us are aware that the sound quality for most portable music is not impressive. If you’ve listened to the radio or to a CD walkman in recent years, you already know that nothing compares to listening to your own CDs at home in your system. Plus, if you’re burning discs so you can take favorite songs on the road, you know that the quality of the copy is usually degraded.
When you buy MP3 player, none of these things will be a problem. Because you are listening to CD quality sound whenever you want and wherever you go, you won’t have to sacrifice sound quality.
Plus, you can easily convert your entire CD collection into MP3 files by ripping them onto your computer. Each CD can be ripped in only a few minutes and before you know it you’ll have easy access to every song you own. Plus, you can purchase thousands of other songs online through any of the various vendors who sell MP3 files.
Because when you buy MP3 player, you can actually store so many songs that you won’t have to make tough choices about the 15 or 18 songs you want to burn on a single CD again. Instead, you’ll be able to take thousands of songs on the road, along with your favorite photos and videos in many cases.
