If you print in volume you probably have already discovered the cost effectiveness of laser printers over ink jet. Toner based copiers are cheaper on a cost per page basis, but they will cost you more to set up.

When it comes to laser printers, Cannon is one of the most popular brands among consumers. After the initial cost of equipment, the only recurring cost you will incur is for your Cannon copier toner.

Options

You will have a few options when it comes time to replace your Cannon Copier toner. Some people choose to refill their toner, though this is not recommended by the manufacturer. Depending on which model you have, you may or may not be able to refill your Cannon copier toner cartridges, but be aware that you will have to alter the cartridge itself. There are no refill holes in the cartridge so you will have to drill and then plug the holes. As you can imagine this could be quite the ordeal.

Retail

The best solution for optimum performance of your Cannon laser printer is to purchase Cannon copier toner retail. You have the option of purchasing your toner from the same retailer you purchased your copier from, however if you want to save money your best option is probably going to be found online. Amazon is a primary site for savings on electronic based products.

Color

When it comes time to replace Cannon copier toner for color printers certain models will be quite expensive. For example, the magenta digital toner for the C3200 will cost you around $150 online. Depending on the model of your Cannon laser printer, you may have to replace up to five color toner cartridges. You could potentially need yellow, magenta and blue for instance.

Overall

Cannon laser printers have a decided advantage over the traditional inkjet printer when you have a large workload. Though the machines themselves and the Cannon copier toner can seem very expensive when you measure the cost per page for printing you will find laser printers to be considerably cheaper.
