The Best Choices For Cheap Electronics
By Anne Ahira
Just because the economy has been taking a downturn, doesn’t mean we want to give up the electronics we love. However, we do want to start looking for the best deals possible.
Most of us already know that shopping online for electronics is often the best way to cut a big chunk off the price but below you’ll find some of the best deals in different categories. That way you can get cheap electronics without skimping on the quality.
MP3 Players
If you’re looking for cheap electronics but don’t want to abandon your plan to buy a new MP3 player, consider the Coby Sports player. With only 512 MB of storage, you won’t be able to fit tons of songs in the player but at only $15 you’ll have a hard time finding a better way to take the music you love on the go.
There’s no video support but the small LCD screen can display lyrics in sync with the song. Plus, there’s a built-in FM tuner that will expose you to hours of free music enjoyment.
If you want a little bit more storage, you can opt for the Coby USB Drive/MP3 Player. It also has an FM tuner but also boasts a 2 GB flash memory drive. The price is around $21.
Big Screen Televisions
Most of us know we’re going to have to upgrade to a high definition television soon if we haven’t already. But most of us might think that’s not going to be possible because of the cost. One option is to opt for a DLP television.
DLP was a technology that emerged at the same time as LCD and plasma but the screens weren’t quite as thin so wall-hanging isn’t a possibility. The picture may not be quite as bright and crisp as with an LCD but the models use up less energy and weight less than plasma screens.
More importantly they cost less. The Toshiba 52 inch HDTV model with 720p resolution costs only $1,000. That’s almost half the price of the Samsung LCD 1080p set at Amazon and about $300 less than the Sharp 52 inch 1080p model. That means DLP sets are cheap electronics at their best: everything you wanted in a television at a price you can afford.
Other Cheap Electronics
No matter what type of cheap electronics you’re looking for the best bet is to shop around online so you can find the best deals possible. Amazon, for example, regularly provides the lowest prices you’re going to find on products.
For example, they have a Samsung upconverting DVD player for only $76. At one of the leading Big Box electronic stores, however, the price for the same player is $82. That may not seem like a big different but if you can save 10% on a DVD player imagine what you can save on a 46 inch LCD television or your favorite MP3 player.
