Pros

If you have ever used a webcam, you know that the picture quality and frame rate is very important. When the refresh rate is slow and image is, poor you can have a hard time distinguishing the person you are talking to from an alien!

For the price, the Creative Labs Webcam Live gives you good image quality and frame rate. The resolution is not perfect but considering the low cost of this device, it is better than you would think.

One thing that is super efficient with this Creative Labs Webcam is the dedicated microphone. When you are chatting online or with VOIP, you want to be heard clearly. This is one reason Creative Labs set this webcam up with a separate dedicated mic.

Cons

The one thing everyone is pretty aggravated about with the Creative Labs Webcam live is that you cannot attach this camera to your laptop or desktop monitor. It has no clip or snap on attachment to hold it securely to your computer monitor.

Initially there were some compatibility issues with Windows Vista. If you are running this operating system, you may have to search a little for the correct drivers. This can be frustrating but not totally insurmountable.

Overall

This is a middle of the road webcam, it is not perfection in electronics however it has a nice price point that most people can afford. Stay in touch with people across the miles instead of losing touch.

The Creative Labs webcam live is especially nice for grandparents and grandkids, who are separated by many miles, use the webcam to avoid that awkward getting to know you stage when you finally do get an in person meeting!
