DVD Projector
By Anne Ahira
Ok, you know what a DVD player is and you might even know from back in your school days what a projector is. So what exactly is a DVD Projector you are going to ask?
Well, the thing is that it is exactly what it says that it is. A DVD Projector Allows you to take a standard video DVD and project the image from it onto a wall or a ceiling in a size usually up to about 60-inches and you can do so at a distance of about 8 feet or so.
Another nice feature is that most of the DVD Projector on the market can also take the output from a game console or other video source and do the same thing so you can get a larger than life experience with your games and a more movies like experience while watching your favorite movies.
With today’s economy and the rising cost of tickets at the movie theaters it can be a nice investment that can pay for the original cost in no time from the savings.
You will find that the quality of the DVD Projectors can vary greatly from model to model and manufacturer to manufacturer. They can get both quite expensive to buy and costly to maintain.
Some models use a common halogen bulb that can be purchased at any hardware store or super center for under ten dollars. Some of the better quality units may cost you upwards of $400 to change one bulb. As you cans see it may not be the best option for really heavy or abusive use.
A DVD Projector if you buy one of the less costly models with the halogen style bulbs can be a great addition to a child’s room where they can watch the cartoons and play video games.
The quality for them doesn’t have to be pristine and it frees up the living room television or projector system for the adults to enjoy while keeping the children busy and out of the way.
When researching your DVD Projector make sure to compare the cost of the bulbs, as we mentioned and you might look into the cost of operations.
Some of them are energy hogs and cost quite a bit to keep going and they can actually get quite warm from the operation of the larger more expensive lamps.
When shopping to purchase one you will also want to keep in mind the physical size of the unit so that you can be sure that it will fit in the space that you are allotting for it and that it will have plenty of room to actually breath and stay cool so the lamp doesn’t overheat and burn out.
