This obviously won’t affect the way it operates but it will affect how it integrates with your kitchen aesthetics. There are manual door releases where you actually need to push a hard button to get the door to open. Other models will open with a soft touch button or a gently pull.

Some GE Microwaves also have features that will keep going on after the cooking is done to keep the item from getting cold. Some models have a temperature probe so you can make sure that the item is reaching the correct inside temperature, which is a huge plus when cooking certain meats.

When choosing the correct unit for your situation, it is also important that it have the ease of use you are after and the ability to do everything that you can foresee needing it to do.

A good microwave will last you many trouble free years so make sure you get the one that most closely fills the needs you have and you should enjoy it for a long time to come.
