This relatively new company got its start when several employees left Samsung to strike out on their own.
The iRiver mp3 players were born out of this move and have become increasingly popular.
Several small mp3 players later, many of which have been discontinued by the manufacturer iRiver mp3 players releases the Clix.
Both the first and second generation Clix were well received by consumers and evaluators alike, it is the highest rated mp3 player on CNET.

Pros
The choice in music services is the first big plus for iRiver mp3 players. The wide variety of music files supported in addition to the play for sure compatibility means you can get music and videos from a wide variety of sources including Napster to go and Rhapsody.
Choice is always an excellent selling point, people like the convenience of not being tied to one provider or file type.
The controls on iRiver mp3 players are very intuitive. The casual user will have no problems with initial navigation even without reading the user manual. This is an important feature especially for users of multiple players.
Sound quality is superb; the equalizer has presets or the option for user customization. This coupled with SRS WOW surround sound give iRiver mp3 players a full 3D sound with deeper bass performance.
The display on iRiver mp3 players is exceptional in both form and function. Along with being bright and clear it displays album art, next song in queue, length of the current song and total progress.
You hear many complaints about mp3 players that do not display the album art, iRiver addresses this and much more.
Many people have been surprised by the small size of these mp3 players. It is hard to imagine so much in such a small package. It measures 2 x 10 x 8 inches and only weighs 2.6 ounces.
Cons
Movies are in AVI format, you will need to convert any that are not to play on iRiver mp3 players.
The text viewer is nice but it is a little buggy, for instance it does not have word wrap therefore it breaks words up. It also does not recognize enter space on documents.
The 8 GB maximum is not a lot of memory if you have a large collection of music you want to keep with you. For the average user the size is fine but if you like to carry thousands of music tracks, hundreds of videos or multitudes of images you will need to look elsewhere.
Overall
