Klipsch 2.1

Who would have ever thought that 2.1 surround sound would ever catch on?

People already have tons of options for sound from their televisions, home theater systems and home stereos so why in the world would anyone need a Klipsch 2.1 speaker system?

Because people like options, and many do not want to hassle with wires and setting up speakers all around the room like you do with a 5.1 or 7.1 systems.

Klipsch 2.1 speakers may not be a household name like Pioneer or JVC but according to the number of happy customers on Amazon, they are definitely on their way up.

Pros

Sometimes simple is just better and for you out there who hate trying to run speaker wire and configure the settings for a 5.1 or larger system the Klipsch 2.1 will seem like a God send.

This is a compact home theater system with wireless subwooferand Dolby virtual speaker technology. What all that means is you get the most life like realistic sound from your favorite movies and music with none of the hassles of a bigger unit.

The Klipsch 2.1 AV center also has an up converting DVD player which means you will get at least 1080i through the HDMI output to your television. Or more simply put, you will enjoy high definition images even from older DVD movies.

What could be better than a wireless subwoofer? It is easy to set up and leaves much more room for flexibility. You will no longer be limited to the length of the subwoofer wires!

Cons

The set up of the unit itself was simple, power source and a few cables and you are finished. The remote on the other hand is not so simple a device; you may need customer service to lead you through the remote set up for the Klipsch 2.1 home theater system.

Price is always a primary consideration on any purchase and the $699 price tag on this unit may make you stop and reconsider. That is an extreme amount of money to spend on a home theater system and there are lower priced models available nearly anywhere you look.

Bottom Line

The form and function of the Klipsch 2.1 home theater is awesome, however when it comes to deciding on value, that may come down to personal preference.

The unit does include an up converting DVD player, so that is a significant difference between the Klipsch 2.1 and other home theater systems, you just have to ask yourself if it is enough of a difference for the price.
