By now, most people know the switch to HDTV is not going to happen until June thanks to government intervention.

The fact remains, however, that millions of people are still going to need to switch their televisions eventually if they want to keep getting programming.

If you’re one of the people looking to make that switch or if you’re just interested in upgrading to a bigger, better television, consider the reasonably priced LCD TV 46 inch models that are on the market. Below are some of the better options.

Samsung LN46A650

One of the best LCD TV 46 inch models on the market is this one by Samsung which is sold on Amazon. The television includes some impressive features, including Auto Motion Plus.

One of the problems with some of the LCD televisions in the past was a slight blur because the television could not keep up with the speed of the images. On larger televisions, this blur became more noticeable.

To deal with this problem, Samsung added Auto Motion Plus technology which involves a processor that creates the filler images itself to prevent the blur from happening in the first place. Samsung televisions, the LCD TV 46 inch model, are also some of the most highly rated. The cost is under $1,500.

Sony KDL-46S4100

Sony Bravia LCD TV 46 models are also excellent choices. One of the best features is that come equipped with a large number and greater variety of HD inputs so you can more easily connect all of your electronics and your home theater system.

That’s done, in part, because Sony wants to make it easy for you to connect a Blu-Ray player or a Sony Playstation 3 to the television and get the best possible picture quality as a result.

The television also comes with a PC input so you can connect it to your computer. You can purchase this particular model at Amazon for under $1,200.

Sharp Aquos LC46D43U

Although the Aquos model is one of the more expensive LCD TV 46 models available at Amazon (the cost is just over $1,600), it provides plenty of features to make it worth the cost. For example, some televisions have a delay when switching between an analog and an HD signal.

The Aquos model has one of the fastest response rates at 6 milliseconds. Additionally, the Sharp LCD TV 46 is energy star compliant which means your electric bill won’t increase dramatically just because you’ve upgraded your television. In some cases, you bill may even go down slightly.

Toshiba REGZA

One of the most affordable LCD TV 46 models on Amazon was this one by Toshiba which cost less than $1,100. The model has four HDMI connections which you can use to hook up all of your audio visual components.

That’s more than most of the televisions on the market include. Like all of the other televisions mentioned above, this one has 1080p resolution which is the highest available.
