Summer is fast approaching and it will be once again time to play at your favorite swimming site. Whether that be a pool or the lake, you may want to consider a waterproof mp3 player.
You can do this in a couple of ways, you can purchase a waterproof case or you can purchase a waterproof mp3 player. Either will fulfill the need for music and water sports.
Water Proof Cases
Many companies have become aware of the increasing demand for cases to protect mp3 players from water damage. Below is a sample list of the most popular brands and their cases.
IPod-Aquapac
If you want to take your IPod Nano to the pool, you might want to get an Aquapac. It conveniently seals your mp3 player away from the harmful effects of water and straps to your arm so you can swim laps to your heart’s content.
You should follow the instructions carefully when you first receive this or any waterproof mp3 player case. Use paper towels to test the cases effectiveness before you place you expensive mp3 player inside and go for a swim.
Creative Zen Nano Plus

It functions well but has some quirks, like no battery indicator, cannot sort the music and the reverse and forward buttons do double time as the on and off switch.
Overall
If you like the functionality of your current player and prefer not to invest in a separate unit for swimming and beach activities, you will want to stick with a waterproof mp3 case. You will be familiar with controls and function while not gambling on a new mp3 player.
On the other hand, some people like adventure and it can be a little scary slipping the mp3 player you paid several hundred dollars for into a sleeve and bailing off into the pool. To protect your investment the smart money may be on an inexpensive waterproof mp3 player.
