Printers are easily the most popular computer accessory. So it stands to reason that many of the top computer makers also produce printers.

However, there are a few smaller or niche players who do nothing but develop quality printers.

Of course, the question is, which do you choose? Is it better to buy a printer from a small company that only deals in printers, or a larger one that makes dozens of other products.

In this article we are going to take a look at one of the smaller printer manufacturers.

OKI Data is a Japanese corporation that competes in the crowded PC peripheral market. That essentially means that they sell computer accessories. Their two most successful and sought after products are digital color and monochrome printers.

And while it is true that monochrome and dot matrix printers are a bit antiquated, they still sell well, especially in the domestic markets where users tend to have fairly limited printing needs.

But when it comes to the future, the OKI printer of choice is certainly the digital color printer for business needs. For years OKI has known that the business printers are where the real growth is and that is why they have invested in them heavily.

What about the present OKI printer? Well, the company is dedicated to providing cutting edge business solutions and to improving digital color technology.

As you might expect, this is no easy task. The market for color printers is a crowded one populated by many companies who have access to more money and more experienced research teams.

But OKI has one obvious advantage. As we mentioned, they are only focused on printers, which allows them to divert all of their investment dollars and experience to creating state of the art printers. These printers are also offered at competitive prices, since the OKI printer is available for both domestic and business use.

How do they do it? Like any company that is forced to compete in an industry with giants, OKI his set itself apart from the pack by concentrating on customer service. That’s right! They actually listen to their clients and use this information to develop better, more useful products.

It is this strategy in particular that is most directly responsible for the growth of OKI over the past few years. In fact, the company has grown by an incredible thirty percent in just two years!

That is more than double the industry average. For a company that has been around for more than four decades now, that is truly astonishing.

What does the future hold? The OKI printer has long been a favorite for small businesses and for home use. Not only does the company actually listen to consumers, but they also have a growing business.

These two things are not mutually exclusively. In fact, it is patently clear that the company owes its recent growth in large part to their uncommon commitment to customer service.

And while innovation and being first has never been a top priority for OKI, they do have a history of finding out what customers want and expect from any new technology, whether it be LED or digital color printers.
