Panasonic Plasma Televisions
By Anne Ahira
Most companies are banking on LCD televisions to hold the future of HD. For Panasonic Plasma televisions are a huge part of the line up.
They offer everything from a forty-two inch version all the way up to a monster 65-inch screen. As of this writing there are no less than 39 plasma models in the Panasonic plasma line. That is more styles just in Plasma than a lot of smaller companies offer all together.
When it comes to plasma televisions and not just the Panasonic Plasma, most salesmen and most companies out there think that the picture quality of a plasma TV is inferior to the quality of a comparable LCD or LED television and the plasma models are also considerably heavier than the LCD or LED counter parts out there.
Panasonic Plasma televisions have taken steps to improve both the picture quality and the sound quality to the point that they rival the other styles on the market today. While it is still true that plasma is heavier there are folks out there that actually prefer to have the weight of the plasma set. I for one prefer to have the added security that the weight gives. I know it is not as likely to take a tumble off the stand. However, if I were to opt to have the thing wall mounted, I would take an LCD in a heartbeat over a plasma television because of the weight.
Panasonic Plasma televisions and indeed plasma televisions as a whole tend to do a much better job in a darker room. The screen on a plasma television set tends to reflect a lot of ambient light making them less enjoyable in a nice sunny room in the afternoon. However by the same token, most people find that the warmth of the picture against the crispness of an LCD or LED set is better. If you watch a lot of movies you might tend to agree. If you are more into sports then you may not.
The Panasonic Company has been making electronics and televisions for many years and has always been known as a leader and not a follower in the industry. The quality of the Panasonic Plasmas is no exception and in fact shows that a company can take the current technology and improve on it to the point that it almost becomes another entity.
If you are in the market for a moderately large television you should definitely consider plasma as an option and while you are looking I would advise that you take a long and serious look at the Panasonic Plasma line up before you make a decision one way or the other. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
