At some point in life, didn’t we all want to be photographers? To run around taking pictures of the rich and famous or the glorious architecture in faraway cities sounded like a dream career.

For most people life got in the way of big dreams, however a little of that photographer spirit stayed around.

For these people a simple point and shoot digital camera will not suffice. They will be looking for something more along the lines of a Pentax 35MM camera.

For the truly advanced photographer who wants more control the Pentax 35MM K20D may be on their wish list.

Features

  • 14.6-megapixel resolution
  • 2.7-inch LCD display
  • Dust-proof
  • Water-resistant construction
  • Comprehensive Dust Removal system
  • New Live View function
  • Capture images to SD/SDHC cards (not included)
  • CMOS image sensor
  • noise-reduction technology
  • Custom Image functions
  • Expanded Dynamic Range function
  • A PC sync socket.

Pros

With that list of features what more is there to say about this Pentax 35MM camera?  The first thing you will notice is this is a rather compact the semi professional camera.

This makes it extremely easy to take on an outdoor adventure, as you will not have to carry a separate camera bag. Simply slide it in your carryall bag and go, the rugged design means less worry about damage.

Everything on this camera can be set to manual mode. You have manual focus, flash and many more. With this kind of control, you can set up each individual shot just as you could with an older SLR. Some will like this feature others will not; this is more of a personal preference.

One thing the manual setting do is preserve battery life. If you shoot on manual at all times and use the LCD screen very little you can extend the battery life to double or triple what the manufacturer rates it.

Now that is refreshing, too many times battery life on electronics is overrated by the company leading to disgruntled consumers.

When you want to know about a particular product go to the customers who have used it. Looking at the reviews and ratings for this Pentax 35MM camera will make you want to run out and get one.

Photographers from all levels of the profession have rated this as an excellent camera. Even more surprising is that out of 81 reviews no one gave this camera a rating of one.

Bottom Line

If you are in the market for a new DSLR camera the Pentax, 35MM is a good buy. It is priced at about a third of what you would pay for a similar model from Nikon and by all accounts takes photos just as well.
