You can also play streaming radio such as Sirrus or XM from your computer through the home theater system. No more having to sit in front of your computer to enjoy your downloaded or streaming tunes.
Features
- Compatible with Rhapsody
- Stream digital music
- Listen to hundreds of free internet radio stations
- 3 inch B&W screen
- Remote control included
Pros
The Phillips Audio Player networking tool is easy to set up and has a simple user interface. That means it will not confuse you with cryptic messages and weird errors.
Once connected the unit itself will detect your home wireless network and begin its own updates. This is a nice feature particularly those who are not technologically experienced.
Audio quality is not lost in translation with the Phillips audio player networking device. The sound is clear and crisp the way it was intended to be.
Cons
This Phillips Audio Player does not have onboard speakers. It is meant to work through your current home theater system. It would have been nice if they would have included small onboard speakers for easy listening in the bedroom or bathroom.
Sometimes difficult to configure with your pc, one customer using a Dell with Windows Xp had a few issues setting up the streaming audio. You also must have Windows media player installed on your home computer in order to access music files.
Customer Ratings
Customers have been satisfied with the unit though the Phillips Audio Player networking device could stand a few upgrades to address the issues above. At a slightly higher than average price point you would expect a few bells and whistles.
Other than that, minor issue the response to the Phillips Audio Player networking device gets two thumbs up. People were happy to be able to control all the music in the house with one remote.
Overall
Phillips Audio Player networking is the next step in technology evolution. Soon every home in America will have all their electronic devices synched and linked together. Newer televisions are moving this direction with new DNLA options.
You can listen to you internet radio on your home stereo while checking your email on the 65 inch big screen. This is a solid idea that may need a few tweaks to make it worth the price tag.
