Reasons to Consider Buying Philips MP3 Player
By Anne Ahira
If you’re trying to decide what type of MP3 player you want to purchase, there are lots of good ones on the market.
However, one of the best performers appears to be the Philips MP3 player.
I’d heard a lot of great things about the player from people ? everyone knows I love to talk about electronics?
So I decided to give it a whirl myself and was quite impressed.
Let me share with you a couple of the best parts about the Philips MP3 player.
Cost
While you don’t necessarily want to make your electronic buying decisions based on price alone, cost is generally a factor you can’t overlook completely.
The Philips MP3 player is actually about $10 cheaper than similar models by Sony and Creative Zen. It’s about $40 cheaper than the same size iPod Nano.
Screen Size
The Philips MP3 player also contains one of the largest screens available in the industry. At 3.5 inches, its 1 to 1.5 inches larger than the Creative Zen and iPod models, respectively.
It’s also a backlist LCD display so the quality of the images is quite good and makes watching almost anything look amazing.
FM Radio Support
Like most players on the market, except iPods, the Philips MP3 player does include an FM tuner so you can listen to your favorite radio stations when you’re not enjoying your favorite music or video files on the portable system.
This is a great extra for people who don’t have a large MP3 collection but still love music.
Flash Memory
Not unlike the majority of lower capacity players, the Philips MP3 player uses flash memory for storage. That’s going to make it more durable in the long haul.
Flash memory, as I’ve said before, doesn’t have moving parts like traditional hard drives do so it’s less likely to be damaged during a fall. You might not be so lucky with the screen, however, so don’t deliberately test out the durability on your own.
Storage Pouch
Sometimes it’s the little extras that give a product an advantage. One example is the storage pouch that comes with the Philips MP3 player. How many other portable music players include something like this? Not very many.
So far I’ve only focused on the Philips MP3 Player SA61 but the company has made quite a few other models, as well. While Philips is one of the top brands in electronics, some of their other MP3 players have not performed as well in consumer tests.
If you’re not interested in the brand mentioned here, you can find some other choices at Amazon, too. However, make sure you read all of the user reviews before making a final decision.
