If you have a computer chances are better than average that, you have a printer as well.  Whether you have a small home business or occasionally like to print letters to loved one, printers have become a part of nearly every household.

Like any other electronic device eventually, it will need to be replaced or technology will advance to the point where it makes sense to upgrade. Either way you may find yourself in the market for a new printer.

Samsung printers could be a good place to begin your search. A popular model among Samsung printers is the ML-1630.

Features

  • Laser printer
  • Light enough to be portable
  • 1200 x 600 DPI
  • 100 sheet paper tray
  • Prints 17 ppm

Pros

Samsung printers have never looked smarter. With a glossy black finish, it is a nice addition to any office or home computer system. Many printers are white or gray and have an all-plastic look and feel, not so with Samsung printers like this one. The pictures of this printer do not do it justice; you have to see it to appreciate the low profile design.

It will not take up a lot of space as it measures a mere 13.1 x 14.8 x 4.7 in. Incorporated into the sleek design is a small blue LED light that lets you know when the printer is “awake”.

Smooth function and quiet operation are features that are hard to find in printers. Samsung printers operate at a quiet 45 decibels. In case you are not sure how that translates, libraries are normally in the neighborhood of 40 decibels.

Price is always a prime consideration when considering a new printer. You want to get the most bang for your buck so to speak. Samsung printers are currently retailing for just over $120 on sites like Amazon. Not the bottom of the price barrel but not at the top either. Samsung printers like this one utilizes toner instead of ink, but the price for a replacement toner cartridge is still in the reasonable range at about $40.

Cons

A lot of people are becoming more environmentally conscious and like to use recycled paper, which is a bit thinner than traditional printer paper. Samsung printers tend to wrinkle this type of paper, so the user will have to return to Staples for a fresh supply.

Overall

If you are tired of the clunking, whirring and buzzing that comes with your current printer, Samsung printers have conquered the noise pollution. This is one of the quietest printers available on the market today. Put that together with decent price and high style and you have a suitable printer replacement for most consumers.
