Samsung LCD Television Stands and Wall Mounts

You have finally decided to upgrade and now with your brand new Samsung LCD television sitting on the living room floor you realize you are going to need something to put it on!

Flat panel TV’s are unique in that you have two options for displaying them, you can hang them on the wall or purchase and entertainment center for them. The choice will depend on where you want to display the set and personal preference.

Some people like big ornate entertainment centers and others like the idea of their Samsung LCD television looking like the world’s largest photo on the wall. Look ma it is an honest to goodness moving picture show!

Wall Mounts

Wall mounts are a good choice for your Samsung LCD television if you have a wall large enough for the area of your screen. The main reason these are better than entertainment centers is the security factor. Bolted securely to the wall you will have no concerns that someone will stumble into your set and knock it off the small pedestal it comes with. There is little chance of that kind of damage to your Samsung LCD television with a wall mount.

If this is the avenue, you decide to take, do yourself a favor and shop around for the mount. At local retailers your are liable to have to spend nearly $100 to get the correct wall mount, while places like Amazon or JR.com will have them for around $40. This is a significant difference, one that is well worth the wait of shipping. Just remember to check the mounts compatibility with your model television.

Entertainment Centers

You could look all day at entertainment centers built to house the Samsung LCD television, but for the sake of brevity let’s look at two types, the full entertainment center and the stand type. The basic difference in the two is size, a full entertainment center will hold your Samsung LCD television plus have compartments and shelves above, below and beside it for other things like movies.

A stand on the other hand is more basic, two to three shelves and possibly a compartment or two beneath the set. There is also a plain wall mount/stand where the television mounts to a wall type bracket supported by a small pedestal stand.

The prices on any of these can run from a few hundred dollars to thousands, depending on style, size and where you buy. Each stand is equally sturdy though the wall mount/ stand would not be a first choice especially for a large 52-inch or bigger Samsung LCD television.

Conclusion

You do not want to get your Samsung LCD television home and have no way to display it. If you order from Amazon or a similar site, you may want to browse their stands and wall mounts, that way you will not have to wait for a shipment to enjoy your set.
