The king of high definition television is without question the plasma. It is hard to beat the color and picture resolution on these sets.
In order to get an idea of just what you can expect from one, let’s look at a popular brand, the Samsung Plasma TV’s.
50 Inch
Go big or go home right? That is the mentality behind purchasing a 50? Samsung Plasma TV’s. Get that theater appearance in the privacy of your home, popcorn and soda pop is much cheaper!

The biggest malady that has followed Samsung Plasma TV’s or any other plasma for that matter is the issue of burn in. The manner in which these televisions produce images leave them vulnerable to screen burn in. Thankfully, many hours have gone into figuring out how to rid the plasma of this problem, and honestly, they are doing a great job. This unit is especially good at preventing burn in, a customer purposely tried to burn images into this unit with very little luck!
Samsung plasma TV’s are known for extreme contrast ratios, this is part of the reason they are still out performing LCD units. They are trying to compete but it is hard for any LCD to reach the outstanding million to one contrast ratio that is possible with plasma.
Overall customers agree if you are not a couch potatoes now you will be when you purchase Samsung plasma TV’s. The images are just that mind blowing.
Cons
It should be a disclaimer on all flat panel television over 32 inches; you just about have to have a home theater system with these televisions. The physical constraints leave little room for decent speakers, though some models try harder than others you can figure on investing in surround sound if you plan on using Samsung plasma TV’s.
You have to remember a television will only display images that are as good as the signal they receive. Some people have been a bit put off that their cable channels looked about the same on HD as any other set. This is because most cable and satellite channels are not offered in high definition yet. Sometimes the lack of decent signal will cause the Samsung plasma TV’s to look much worse, it is not the fault of the set, look to your cable or satellite provider.
Overall
Plasma is where it is at when it comes to high definition and Samsung plasma TV’s are good. They are reasonably priced and have great consumer reviews to back them up. There are other sizes of Samsung Plasma TV’s for you to choose from and you can find more information on the following sites.
