Pros
The first thing you will notice right out of the box is the sleek design of the Sansa 8GB mp3 player. Many players today are made of all plastic material; however, SanDisk went with a metal alloy that is both nice to look at and durable for use.
No matter how large the memory capacities of an mp3 player people still love their radio. Too many big name companies have neglected to put this piece of technology in their players. The Sansa 8GBcomes with a built in digital FM tuner plus the ability to record your favorite song!
The memory is not huge on this player but it will still hold a few of your favorite videos with no problem. Simply use the included converter software to convert that video to the MPEG format compatible on the Sansa 8 GB.
Being a flash based mp3 player means you can take this unit jogging or hiking and never worry about damage to any moving internal parts, because there are none. Larger players require a hard disk similar to what is in your home computer; these are sensitive to excessive movement and can be damaged by an active lifestyle. Flash memory has no moving parts therefore this is a non-issue. For this same reason, these players make excellent gifts for older children and teens.
Easy to use buttons and an intuitive user interface round out all the reasons the Sansa 8GB is a good choice in mp3 players in mp3 players. Who wants to hassle with difficult interfaces and confusing button configurations? Go with what is simple and to the point, and you will never go wrong.
Cons
The need to convert videos before using them on the Sansa 8GB can be a headache. Some newer models are compatible with more video file types and are bypassing this problem in this model this step was not taken.
Only having one charging option out of the box is annoying to say the least. It takes quite some time to charge the Sansa 8GB through the USB port and the option of a home charger would have been nice.
Overall
Good overall function and a decent price range scores the Sansa 8GB at the top of the charts in mp3 players. Customer satisfaction and the many extra features on this media player make it an excellent choice. Compare prices at these great sites:
