The Sansa 8 GB mp3 player has many features that lovers of music will enjoy. Media players are as common anymore as portable radios were in the 80’s.

Pros

Lightweight but substantial feeling at the same time. You could take the Sansa 8 GB mp3 player jogging and not notice the extra weight; however, the solid build feels good in the hand.

Screen is easy to see and read in all light levels, from late at night to the brightest day you will be able to see what is playing.

Expansion port is great taking a full 4 GB memory card allowing more flexibility and transfer of music options. With a compatible cell phone, you could ideally transfer music from the player to the phone negating the purchase of ringtones in some cases. You would need to be sure the card was compatible with your phone however.

Cons

The screen while nice and bright is easily scratched even with careful use. If you are going to invest in the Sansa 8 GB, mp3 player you will want to invest in a good case or screen protector as well.

The USB is a proprietary connection this means that if you lose the one you receive with the player you will have to order another one, a regular USB cord will not work.

Scrolling takes a little while especially if the song you are looking for is pretty far down the list. IT would be nice if the scroll speed increased the longer you held it down.

The Sansa 8 GB mp3 player has great customer reviews. Even those who cited issues like the ones above were still more than satisfied with the player on whole. Moreover, surprisingly no one was upset by the ear buds that ship with this product that is rare indeed.

Bottom Line

For the person in the market for a small lightweight mp3 player with good function and simplicity of use the Sansa 8 GB mp3 player is a good choice. It may be missing some of the bells and whistles of larger more expensive units, however if your goal is good sound and portable music, this fits that description.
