Personal media players are the must have item of this generation. People from 6-60 are getting in on the fun of having their favorite music playing anytime of the night or day. For the young or the young at heart Creative Zen has created a nice 4 GB mp3 player.

The Creative Zen Mosaic 4 GB mp3 player comes in three colors, pink, silver and black but the best feature is the mosaic keypad. This is a one of a kind design that other manufacturers only wish they had thought of.

Features

  • 4 GB flash memory
  • 1.8 TFT color display
  • Supports, mp3, wav, wma and audio 4 formats
  • Supports JPEG (BMP, GIF, PNG and TIFF)
  • 32 hour battery life
  • Holds 2,000 wma or 1,000 mp3 files

Good

A deal breaker in most cases is price; however, the Creative Zen Mosaic 4 GB mp3 player has ranked very well in this department. Coming in under a $100, you get a lot of player for the cash.

Another key change to this 4 GB mp3 player is the addition of a built in speaker, now you can share music with a friend without butting heads. Surprisingly for such a small device and speaker, the sound quality is quite nice.

Radio is something manufacturers are discovering is important to many people. Creative Zen jumped on the bandwagon early by adding FM radio to the Mosaic 4 GB mp3 player.

Battery life is exceptional. Many times, you will find that real battery life will fall significantly below manufacturer’s suggestion. With this 4 GB mp3 player, you will find actual life actually exceeds the suggested, a rare find indeed.

Bad

While the design is cool and interesting, the fact that it is plastic is a little off putting. It is not cheap feeling because the construction is solid and sturdy; however, if you are looking for the metallic feel of some players it will be lacking.

As seems to be the case with most 4 GB mp3 players, the headphones leave something to be desired. Most people simply upgrade to a better pair of ear buds or head phones.

FM radio is dependent on the headphones, the antenna is built in and therefore playing the radio through the speaker is not possible.

Bottom Line

If you are looking for a simple to use 4 GB mp3 player for a reasonable price, you cannot go wrong with the Creative Zen. Great features, cool design and nice functionality combine to make a solid product.
