While looking for neat features in a 256mb Mp3 Player you may be surprised to know that there is one out there that you can read and receive email with! Ultra Products came up with this great little player, squeezing a whole lot of technology into a 256mb Mp3 Player.

Features Include:

Appearance

This 256mb Mp3 Player looks much like a thumb drive, it is simple and small. The majority of the player is a hard plastic, but the back is black rubber, this helps keep it from sliding off surfaces. Easy to use joystick and function buttons round out the description of this 256mb Mp3 Player.

The downside is that while this sounds like a neat 256mb Mp3 Player, you cannot find them available at this time anywhere! That tells you one of two things they were either really great or really horrible!

Sunglasses?

Everyone it seems is getting into the mp3 player game, even Oakley. High on the list of strange features is the Oakley Thump, a sunglass / 256mb Mp3 Player combo.

It is safe to say you have seen everything when you can purchase a 256mb Mp3 Player built into a pair of high-end sunglasses! :-)

The pros:

  • You can use this player with a multitude of operating systems, MAC and PC
  • Lithium rechargeable battery
  • USB 2.0
  • You will likely be the only one who owns a pair! ;-)

Cons:

  • Price- At $300 this 256mb Mp3 Player is a very expensive model
  • Feel light and cheap
  • Stiff controls
  • May not fit everyone correctly

You could give this 256mb Mp3 Player a ten for the coolness factor but for pure functionality, you might want to stick to iPod for the same money.

Toys

Along with adding odd features to a 256mb Mp3 Player companies are also making them into toys. Take a look at the Hello Kitty 256mb Mp3 Player available from Amazon.

This is an adorable if strange application for a 256mb Mp3 Player. The player is pretty much standard aside from it being in the form of a kitty, it has of course 256 MB of memory, plays Mp2, Mp3, WMA and WAV file types and is compatible with Windows 98, 2000 and XP.

If you are a Hello Kitty fan or just looking for something a bit different this 256mb Mp3 Player is right up your alley. :-)

One quick search of the internet will bring you millions of results for digital mp3 players, all sizes and shapes are represented with Apple stealing the first eight pages.

A recent trend you will notice is the massive amounts of memory some of these mp3 portable players have.

There are now portable media devices with bigger hard drives than some computers! These players are quite nice, but they have a price tag and complicated care to go along with it.

If you want something simple to use, care for and portable, consider an mp3 player 256 MB like the Rio Cali.

An mp3 player 256 MB like this one has flash memory, which means no moving parts. This is great if you plan to wear it while you exercise or mow the lawn.

Large hard drive models are nice for storing thousands of songs and photos; however, who really needs that many?

Battery life on most players including an mp3 player 256 MB is limited to a few hours on one charge, and even if it will play for 24 hours are you really going to listen to one for that long? Chances are good that the most you will listen at one time is a couple of hours.

Rio Cali

While this is not the only mp3 player 256 MB on the market, it is one of the favorites among consumers.

Features:

  • 256 MB of memory – plays back over four hours of mp3
  • Expansion – you can add a memory card up to 512 MB SD/MMC
  • It’s an Mp3 player USB connection
  • 18 hour battery life – Energizer AAA
  • 5 band equalizer

Another nice thing about this mp3 player 256 MB is it is compatible with older computer systems. New portable mp3 players many times require you to have Windows XP or later operating system, the Rio does not. It is also compatible with MAC operating systems, which is a rare find.

Operating System Requirements

  • OS- Windows 98SE, 2000, ME, XP or MAC OS X
  • Intel Pentium II 233 MHZ
  • 64 MB Ram
  • 35 MB hard drive space
  • USB ports
  • CD drive

These are the minimum system requirements for the Rio Cali mp3 player 256 MB.

Customer Reviews

This mp3 player 256 MB score a four out of five with 252 customer reviews on Amazon. Here are a few things they liked about this player:

  • Flash memory means no skipping
  • Sleek and light
  • Software is simple to use
  • Comes with its own clip on holster
  • Expandable memory
  • Great battery life

Overall this is a great little mp3 player 256 MB, easy to use and holds plenty of music for casual use.
