52 LCD TV – Is It The Ultimate?

Perhaps the 52 LCD TV is not the ultimate in size, but it surely provides an unforgettable experience. The 52 LCD TV is available in 1080p HDTV.  What you need in a major purchase like this is decided by your budget, your tastes, and the use you put it to, just as with any other major purchase.

The 52 LCD TV is very popular among sports fans, however it is also popular among HDTV programming fans, video lovers and even gamers. Watching a sports  game on a large screen high res TV is the ultimate for some buyers.

If that is the case then insure that the HDTV has a sufficiently high refresh rate to avoid the stuttering that 52 LCD TV buyers have reported in some models used for other purposes.

You will also want to insure you have sufficient input ports to hook your HDTV up to the cable or satellite if that is how you view games and perhaps a PC connector and DVD or Video player connector. This is a large screen and takes up a fair amount of space (that is a good point) so check the ultimate size and your available space on your choice.

Samsung produces a 52 LCD TV model LN52B750 with 1080p and with a 240 HZ and two ms response time that is popular among sports fans. There are 4 HDMI inputs and two component and 1 PC inputs plus surround sound speakers.

This may not be the ultimate 52 LCD TV, but it is worth comparing to other brands to see if it meets your needs.  Essentially comparisons are the best way to determine the best choice for you.

The Sony Bravia S Series comes with a very reasonable price tag and is a full high def 1080p TV. This 52 LCD TV has 3 HDMI inputs, two component inputs and a PC input. It is energy star qualified as well. You may want to consider if 3 HDMI inputs are enough (they are for most people).

The size of this unit is somewhat larger than other 52 LCD TV choices, so making sure it fits is essential prior to purchase. There are link modules that are sold separately that can extend the capabilities of this HDTV but are not included in the basic package.

Philips makes a 52 LCD TV  that  has 1080p resolution a 33000:1 contrast ratio and 16:9 aspect ratio. There is a 5 ms response time and this 52 LCD TV uses pixel plus high definition engine. The price is very reasonable and a tradeoff between price and capabilities might be possible for some purchasers.

The negatives to a 52 LCD TV are that the proper TV with the best display rate and the proper size is hard to choose. That might seem like a positive but when you are seriously shopping for the best buy and the best use, then it does become a drawback.

Almost all 52 LCD TV brands are 1080p since HDTV is the standard now. 720p HDTV is not available in this particular size anymore.  Across the board the built in speakers in most of the 52 LCD TV models are not as good as most people’s home media systems.

On the good side the 52 LCD TV with 1080p true HD display will certainly make your movie viewing an experience to rival that of any cinema. Hook in the right sound system and you have a movie theater at home. Sports fans dream of watching the big games on with a crystal clear picture that size.

DVDS can be displayed the way they were meant to be seen and some 52 LCD TV models have internet streaming capability so streaming media can be accessed through the TV using your own broadband connection!  Those are some pretty attractive features.

Some styles of HDTVs are more aesthetically appealing than others may be, this can factor in the decision but it may have no impact at all.

Overall, the 52 LCD TV is well worth the purchase price if chosen t suit your needs. The work involved in choosing the correct model with the correct display rate and input ports is well worth it in terms of savings, and long term satisfaction with your purchase.

Care should be taken when choosing a 52 LCD TV for your home to make sure it fits the allotted area. There could be few more discouraging things than to have that new HDTV arrive and find that it doesn’t fit in the entertainment area.

Also, be sure that you can hook your cable, DVD, audio input, and even internet to the TV at the same time if you plan to use them all. If you can’t use all its capabilities then you may not be happy with this purchase.

On the other hand, if you choose what you can use, you will find that HDTV will come to life for you and if you are new to HDTV you will see what the fuss is all about.  Blueray technology may be available on some models of 52 LCD TVs it is up to you if you feel you can use it or if this addition is unecessary.

It can be a very positive factor and allow home speaker systems to stay hidden while still broadcasting to your HDTV, however it will add some to the cost too.

Once you have done your measuring, decided on your needs and selected a brand and style of 52 LCD TV the rest is relatively easy. It is almost always best to avoid purchasing these used,  as the warranty on new products protect a substantial investment.

Also the more complex the system is the more possible it will be that professional installation may be necessary. You can arrange this prior to the 52 LCD TV’s delivery date if necessary.  Once all that is done, you can set up your new big screen HDTV and sit back and enjoy media in an entire new way.

50 Inch LCD TV from Samsung

There is nothing better than coming home from a hard day on the job and vegging out in front of your big screen television.

The problem is your living room still has an old 32-inch console in the middle of it! It is most definitely time to upgrade to a 50 inch LCD.

Features to Look for

  • Whenever you look at a 50 inch LCD TV you want to first check on the dynamic contrast ratio. This is the difference between the blackest black and the whitest white. The higher the number the better quality picture you will have. For instance, some sites will tell you that 1,000:1 contrast ratio is considered high definition, and it is. However as technology has advanced it is now possible to find a 50 inch LCD TV with a contrast ratio of 50,000:1 or more. Be sure to check out the specifications on different models before choosing one.
  • Another commonly overlooked feature is the number of HDMI ports. These are the new type of connections necessary for getting the most out of your HD satellite box or game station. You cannot get the full effect of the high definition on without these special connections. Most newer televisions will have at least one HDMI port, however if you are investing in a new 50 inch LCD TV that you plan on having for years to come then you will eventually want to connect more than one HD component.
  • You have probably noticed that new televisions have numbers and letters everywhere. You will want to pay special attention to 1080p or 1080i designation. This refers to the resolution of the 50-inch LCD TV you are looking at. The newest technology is 1080 progressive scan and as such is the best.
  • You will also notice things like 1920 x 1080 or something similar. This number refers to the number of vertical lines by horizontal lines. The more the better as you may imagine.

Pros

Choosing a 50 inch, LCD TV over say plasma or DLP has some advantages. For starters, an LCD television does not have the burn in issues common to plasma and generally have a much brighter display than DLP.

Cons

LCD televisions are known to have a juddering or artifact during fast-paced scenes. This has gotten better over the last couple of years with improved technology but can still be slightly noticeable.

Overall

Overall, a 50-inch LCD TV is a good size for most homes. You will want a minimum of five feet between you and the set for optimal viewing however, the fading or black screen problems you seen with old projection type televisions is virtually non-existent. The price point for most brands of LCD television has also become very competitive, for the best price on a 50-inch LCD TV check out these sites:
