There are a number of multimedia players on the market and choosing one is a bit overwhelming.  When you are looking for the right one to suit your needs, there are a number of things that you should take into consideration.  It is important to focus on your needs to find the one that will fit in with your lifestyle and media choices.

The first thing that you should consider is where you will be using your multimedia players.  If you will be using the player while you are working out, you might consider a player that is lightweight and can be carried along with you.

If you travel a great deal, you should think about the multimedia players that offer video for you to watch on your travels.  These are just a couple of the areas that you should consider when you are deciding on the right multimedia player for you.

Wi-Fi capability is another feature that you will have the option to buy.  Just one look at all the multimedia players on a site like Amazon will show you that a number of the devices have this capability.  However, you will note that the cost is higher on one of these players.  If you don’t really need this capability, you might think about saving the money.

Price is a consideration and there are a number of multimedia players on the market that are not the most well known that you can pick up for much less money.  The Archos 604 has a number of features and is very reasonably priced when compared to some of the more well known brands. Keep the budget in mind when choosing the right player.  If you take your time with your decision, you will find one that meets your needs and fits in with what you expect to pay for the device.

Just because you got a great deal on multimedia players by a brand that you never heard of doesn’t mean that you should automatically buy it.  The deal isn’t good at all if the device breaks down and you have no recourse.  Essentially you will have paid a couple of hundred dollars too much for a useless player.

Once you have considered what you need, you will be able to take a look at the multimedia players on the market and make the best choice possible.  Apple Ipod, Archos, Zune and a number of other players are all out there and make wonderful choices.  Just make sure that you select the right product for you and not just the most popular.

Cons

Battery life is lacking all the way around. Many of the top mp3 players are offering as much as 30 hours of audio playback time, and the two-hour recording time is pathetic.

While the camcorder takes great video on the right, setting this is not a device to replace your digital camera. At less than 2 mega pixels, the still pictures leave much to be desired.

With a player this small, you would think that a wrist strap would be a no brainer. Apparently not as there is no place on the Archos multimedia player for one.

Overall

There are a few things people were less than thrilled with, however even those who pointed these issues out were satisfied with the product. It could be that the product is so unique people are willing to overlook the few shortcomings. Great video, perfect audio playback and more than enough room for all kinds of media come together to make this a good purchase.
