Cheap LCD TV

By Anne Ahira

When you’re adding a new television to your home theater system or to one of your rooms, you might want to pay attention to the price tags so you can pick up a cheap LCD TV. Of course, by cheap, we don’t mean of poor quality.

Most of the models available for sale are actually quite good in terms of performance and quality. By cheap LCD TV, we mean completely affordable options that will fit into almost any budget.

Size Matters

If you’re going to be looking for a cheap LCD TV, be sure you know what size you desire. That’s going to have a big impact on price, although you might be surprised at the cost difference between sizes. Sometimes upgrading to a larger screen can be a better value. Below you’ll find a few reviews of cheap LCD TV models on the market from a few different size categories.

Perfect for Kitchens

If you’re looking for a cheap LCD TV to put in your kitchen or possibly in a young child’s room, you’ll find a wide-range of choices.

The 19 inch models seem to be the best choice for these rooms. Average prices for these sets are going to be between $250 and $300 usually.

However, you should look for sales. Often these sizes can drop dramatically in price so watching ads and checking your favorite online vendors regularly could help you get the cheap LCD TV you want.

Slightly Larger

Around 25 to 30 inch screens are good choices for most bedrooms. For a low resolution Toshiba cheap LCD TV with a 26 inch screen, the price is around $500. You’ll pay less than $400 if you opt for a 24 inch screen from ViewSonic, but you’ll also get a higher resolution for the savings.

However, most consumers of home electronics feel more comfortable buying brand names that are familiar since this gives them more confidence in the purchase.

Best Selection

While you’ll find plenty of choices in the smaller size models, it’s not until you start looking for a larger cheap LCD TV that you really find the biggest selection available. Most of the models on the market are going to be larger than 30 inches.

That’s a good size for larger bedrooms and even most home theater systems, although you can find much larger models as well. With these sizes, you might have to sacrifice resolution to cut the price. For example, a high resolution 37 inch Sony costs just under $1,200 in comparison to an LG of the same size but with a lower resolution that costs just over $700.

The Biggest Available

If you want to capture a true home theater experience, you’ll probably want to opt for an even larger screen, possibly over 50 inches. While the prices are high, you might be surprised what you get for the money.

For about $2,900, you can find a reasonable cheap LCD TV measuring 65 inches and boasting the highest resolution possible. If you’re not ready to spend that much, expect prices to drop soon and more cheap LCD TV models will be in your future.
