Because the MP3 cd players market is booming, you’ll find plenty of options at any local store.

Even little kids can buy toddler versions of these players to prepare them for their future as music downloaders.

Despite all of the selection, one question still remains: should I buy a cheap MP3 player?

 

That question is a little complicated to answer so let’s look at some of the factors that might influence your decision to buy a cheap MP3 player or not.

How Will You Use It?

Spending a lot of money on a portable music player makes sense for some people. For others, it doesn’t. Part of the difference is in how you are going to use it. For example, if you’re a college student who wants the mp3 player so they can listen to tunes between classes then spending a $100 isn’t too bad.

If you work in a factory and want to listen to music on the job where the player could be easily damaged, you might want to choose a cheap MP3 player.

Another related factor is how often you are going to use it. For some people, a cheap MP3 player is a better choice because they probably won’t be spending that much time enjoying music, watching videos, or playing games.

If that’s not you then spending a bit more might be a fine choice.

Drawbacks of the Cheap MP3 Player

If you’re looking for reasons not to buy a cheap MP3 player, one of the best is that the quality tends to be much lower. When you pick up one of these mp3 players and compare it to one of the more expensive models, you can tell the difference.

With sound quality, the same is true. You’ll usually get better sounding music if you spend the extra cash.

When manufacturers get ready to launch a new line of mp3 portable players, they tend to steeply discount the older ones just to get them off the shelves. While having a discontinued, cheap MP3 player is not the worst thing in the world, you will have a harder time finding accessories for it and you may just end up upgrading again to the newer model anyway.

Avoid Some Cheap MP3 Player Promises

It’s also a good idea to avoid buying a cheap MP3 player through an auction site or classified advertisement. The price may be good but you may be very disappointed with the results.
