Creative Labs has created a nice line of mp3 players to suit even the most discerning taste. They have small players, large players and video players to choose from. Here is a sampling of some of the more popular mp3 player Creative has released in the past few years.

Mosaic

One of the most unique mp3 players Creative has come up with is the Mosaic. Right out of the box, you will see a design that no other company has mimicked. Available in pink, black or silver this mp3 player has created a cool looking mosaic tile design with the function keys. It is truly the unique player on the market.

Features

  • Available in several sizes- 2, 4, 6, 8 or 16 GB
  • 32 hour audio battery life
  • 1.8 inch color display
  • Audio files supported- MP3, WMA, WAV (IMA-ADPCM)
  • Image files supported- JPEG (BMP/GIF/PNG/TIFF)
  • FM radio with 32 presets

Pros

The radio feature of mp3 players Creative has released was a great idea and this unit is no exception, however there is one small drawback, the antenna is built into the headphones so there is no way to pick up the radio if listening through the built in speaker.

Due to the small size of mp3 players, in general a built in speaker is not normally included. Creative saw fit to include a rather remarkable speaker on this small device. It is not the way you would want to listen for long periods of time, but it was a nice touch.

Battery life is great, when they advertise 30 hours, that is what they meant. This is a rare find among mp3 players Creative product or otherwise. Most of the time you find the battery lasts at best about half or a little more than the advertisements suggest.

Cons

Mp3 players Creative Labs makes are normally made of alloy metal; the mosaic however is entirely constructed of plastic. This makes it light and portable but also feels rather cheap.

Headphones are such an issue when it comes to judging an mp3 players true capacity. A great mp3 player can sound horrible and it all rest in the ear buds or head phones. Perhaps manufacturers should throw away the cheap ear buds they package with players like this one and provide a consumer discount.

Overall

Mp3 players Creative Labs have produced consistently perform well with consumers and editors alike. They are generally priced well and have a solid product besides. This is one you can feel confident recommending to anyone.

If you are not all that crazy about the IPod, line of products maybe you would be interested in Creative Labs mp3 players. They have a nice look and feel about them and customers from all over have rated them well.

Take for instance the 16 GB Creative Labs mp3 player. Over 700 people have purchased this mp3 player and of that number, over 500 of them rated it at least a four out of five with the majority rating it five of five! Not bad ratings for any product.

Features

  • 16 GB flash memory
  • 2.5 TFT screen
  • Holds 4,000 songs, 64 hours of video and hundreds of images
  • Clock with built in alarm feature
  • Equalizer with 8 settings
  • SDHC
  • USB hardware
  • 320 x 240 pixel resolution
  • 25 hour battery life
  • FM Radio

Pros

Many mp3 players came out without a built in radio, what quickly became apparent was consumers wanted their FM radio stations. Creative Labs mp3 players have answered the call with a vengeance; the 16 GB mp3 player comes with radio and 32 presets!

Battery life is second on most people’s list of requirements for a good mp3 player. Creative Labs mp3 players advertise a long battery life of 25 hours, and by all accounts, the estimates are accurate.

Working out or jogging can become monotonous without some groovy tunes to listen to and with the 16 GB Creative Labs mp3 player you have more than ample space for a modest to large collection of music. You will hit the gym more often with this mp3 player keeping you company. In addition, since the unit has flash based memory you do not have to be concerned about damage to moving internal parts.

The size of the player must also figure into the overall rating of any mp3 player. The 16 GB Creative Labs mp3 player is slightly larger than a credit card and weighs only a few ounces. Perfect portable size and weight, wont weigh you down or be uncomfortable in the pocket.

Cons

As is the case with many shiny mp3 players the Creative labs mp3 player is a fingerprint magnet. It is probably wise to invest in at least a screen protector or complete case for it.

Lack of bundled accessories, Creative labs could have included a wall or car charger with it instead of just the USB cord and the headphones are atrocious. Both of these issues have been brought up by customers about many brands.

Overall

Price, style and function come together to make a nice mp3 player that anyone would be proud to carry. Most issues are common to all mp3 players and not just the Creative labs mp3 line. Check out this player and compare it to others on any of these sites:
