Of course, great sound is only half the battle when you are talking about USB headsets. Many have awesome sound quality but within a short amount of time become hot and very uncomfortable. These USB headsets will do neither, even if you wear glasses you will not notice any discomfort from the velvet lined cushions on the earpiece. In addition, they are made of extremely lightweight material.
Plantronics
Many people find they have a need for USB headsets as much for talking as listening. The increasing use of voice recognition software with computers and online voice chat via the internet has created a demand for a superior headset and microphone combination. Plantronics, a leader in the electronics field, has developed several models of USB headsets; here is one of their more popular units.
Features
- Digitally enhanced noise-canceling microphone
- Digital signal processor
- Hear full spectrum of the human voice
- Foldable for easy storage and transport
- Quick Adjust microphone boom
- USB interface
- $100 Amazon
Pros
These USB headsets do something so few pieces of equipment do, work like they are supposed to! Sound quality both in and out is fantastic and if you are using them on a MAC computer, you do not need any additional software, that in and of itself is a miracle! Plantronics created USB headsets with a good folding design for travel and to top it all off they are quite comfortable.
Cons
Now for the not so good news, these USB headsets come equipped with a very long wire. While that may be a good thing if you like to pace and talk when you are hooking up to your laptop on a plane, not so much. Of course, the long cord does not hurt the function of the device it is simply and inconvenience.
Conclusion
There are several uses for USB headsets from play to work. Whatever your current requirements are whether you need sound quality over voice or simply price considerations you can find a headset that fits.
