Samsung 52 inch LCD HDTV
By Anne Ahira
High definition television is fast becoming the number one choice among consumers. Devices like the Sony Play station 3 and various Blue Ray players are moving consumers to be high definition connoisseurs.
In addition, many cable and satellite providers are now offering a wider variety of HD channels. It will not be long until everyone is converted and the CRT television is relegated to the museum along with 8 tracks and vinyl.
Samsung 52 LCD HDTV looks to fill the void left by the high def revolution. Offering true high definition in a large wide screen at a reasonable price.

Pros
When it comes to high definition, there are variants that the average person may not be aware of. One of those variances is the dynamic contrast ration. In order to be considered HD the ration must be at least 1000:1 as you can see with the Samsung 52 LCD HDTV that ration is 30,000:1. The dynamic contrast ration is the difference between the darkest black and the lightest white and the higher the ratio the crisper and fresh the image will be. This is in part why the Samsung 52 LCD HDTV has such a clear crisp picture.
The Samsung 52 inch LCD HDTV also gets a nod for their great color and tint and well organized menus. You are able to make several customizations without entering any special service menus.
Flat panel televisions are so thin that it is difficult for the manufacturer to fit quality speakers. This usually means the consumer is doomed to purchasing a surround sound unit. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is nice not to have to especially when you fork out more than a grand for the television.
Cons
That leads into the first con, while the sound quality is good on the Samsung 52 inch LCD HDTV you may have to spend a little time adjusting it from the factory settings. Out of the box, the sound may be a bit hollow.
Overall
The Samsung 52 inch LCD HDTV is a good all around television that customers are very satisfied with. LCD sets have come along nicely and are now comparable to plasma in most instances. You can get great picture quality with no fear of burn in and generally much cheaper. For instance, this set currently sells on Amazon for less than $2,000, and on similar sites like Jr.com in the same ballpark.
